The Stokesley local history group was established with a number of aims in mind, the main ones of which are listed below:
  1. To document any archival sources of Stokesley history be they physical document or peoples memories
  2. To produce publications that document all aspects of Stokesley's history (e.g. public houses and the history of sports clubs)
  3. To arrange local exhibitions also with the aim of making the history of the area more accessible, but to also gather further material which may aid our research
  4. To liaise with local experts to both preserve artifacts of interest and to further the group's research
  5. To utilise the Facebook group 'Friends of Stokesley History' for publicity purposes.
